The Bourbonite Society wishes you a Happy Independence Day! This year marks 245 years since the first celebrations to honor those soldiers and founding fathers who fought to break free of the increasing obligations and duty to the British Crown. They were reverent in their honor until they said, ‘we have had enough!’
Fellow Bourbonites are embracing this holiday in a special way this year. After a few years of being on pandemic induced lock-downs and experiencing the subsequent PSTD, many Americans—and the world—are forging ahead with their lives. People are realizing in a different way what freedom means to them.
Our family like most are partaking in the time-honored traditions the 4th of July holiday brings. There are multiple cookouts to attend, firework displays and parades to round up everyone, leave early and secure a good seat, and conversation with friends and family that we might not have seen in some time to reminisce the good ole days.
The ability to come and go as one wishes. The ability to do what you enjoy the most. The ability love and celebrate with fellow bourbonites, spirit lovers, and friends regardless of race or gender…this is the freedom.
